Secure follow-up

Sharing recovery photos clearly and securely

A patient taking a private recovery check-in photo at home

Recovery photographs can help a treating team compare changes over time, but only when they are requested, clearly framed, and sent through the agreed secure channel.

Keep the comparison consistent

Use the requested angle, neutral daylight, a simple background, and similar distance each time. Do not edit, filter, or annotate the image unless your care team asks you to.

Use the private upload route

Avoid public links and social messaging when a secure patient upload is available. Check that the correct date or recovery stage is selected before submitting.

Know when not to wait for a reply

A photograph cannot replace urgent assessment. Follow the emergency and warning-sign instructions in your written plan rather than waiting for a portal response.

Continue thoughtfully

Have a question about your situation?

This article provides general information, not medical advice. Suitability, risks, recovery, and timing must be confirmed with the treating licensed doctor and authorized healthcare facility.
